Jack Greer, MD President
Board-Certified Otolaryngologist | Head & Neck Surgeon
Dr. Jack Greer is a board-certified otolaryngologist with more than 25 years of experience providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients of all ages. While his expertise encompasses a wide range of ear, nose, throat, head, and neck conditions, he has a particular passion for caring for children and helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment.
As a father of four, Dr. Greer understands how important it is for parents to feel confident in the care their children receive. He especially enjoys working with his youngest patients and their families, taking the time to explain conditions, discuss treatment options, and help make the experience as reassuring as possible. From recurrent ear infections and hearing concerns to chronic tonsil and adenoid problems, Dr. Greer finds great satisfaction in helping children feel better, sleep better, and enjoy healthier, happier childhoods.
His clinical expertise includes a broad range of ENT conditions and procedures:
Pediatric ENT: Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanostomy (ear) tube placement, and treatment of common childhood ear, nose, and throat conditions.
Sinus and Nasal Surgery: Balloon sinuplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, and rhinoplasty.
Ear and Hearing Care: Evaluation and treatment of hearing loss, ear disorders, ear surgery, and hearing aid management.
Head and Neck Surgery: Surgical treatment of conditions affecting the head and neck.
Dr. Greer earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1993 and completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Tennessee in 1999.
He is board-certified in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and holds medical licenses in both Tennessee and Georgia.
At Chattanooga Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, Dr. Greer is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care. When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Greer enjoys spending time with his wife and children. An enthusiastic traveler, he loves exploring new destinations, experiencing different cultures, and creating lasting memories with his family.
David Armstrong,MD
Board Certified Otolaryngologist– Head and Neck Surgery
David L. Armstrong, MD is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. A lifelong Tennessean, Dr. Armstrong grew up on a farm in Middle Tennessee and developed a deep appreciation for the Chattanooga area while earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1998. During his time at UTC, he met and fell in love with his wife, and the two later married.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center College of Medicine in 2002, Dr. Armstrong completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in 2007. He joined Chattanooga Ear, Nose & Throat Associates the same year and has since been providing comprehensive ENT care. His expertise includes sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, balloon sinuplasty, ear surgery, head and neck surgery, hearing aids, and septoplasty.
Dr. Armstrong is passionate about learning and enjoys a variety of hobbies, including growing orchids, cooking, traveling, and learning to play the banjo. He is also a proud husband and father of four children.
Peter Sabatini, MD
Board Certified Otolaryngologist– Head and Neck Surgery
Dr. Peter Sabatini brings extensive experience, specialized surgical expertise, and a genuine commitment to patient care to Chattanooga Ear, Nose and Throat Associates. Dedicated to helping patients of all ages breathe easier, feel better, and enjoy a healthier quality of life, Dr. Sabatini provides comprehensive care for a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions.
Dr. Sabatini earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
A proud veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Air Force, Dr. Sabatini's distinguished military service reflects his dedication, discipline, and commitment to helping others—qualities he continues to bring to his medical practice every day.
While he enjoys all aspects of otolaryngology, Dr. Sabatini has particular expertise in treating chronic sinusitis, performing nasal and sinus surgery, providing pediatric ENT care, and managing thyroid and parathyroid disorders. He is committed to helping patients understand their conditions and treatment options, ensuring they feel informed and confident in their care.
Whether helping a child overcome recurring ear infections, restoring comfortable breathing for someone suffering from chronic sinus problems, or guiding a patient through thyroid surgery, Dr. Sabatini approaches each patient with compassion, experience, and a focus on achieving the best possible outcome.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sabatini enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. An avid runner, he embraces an active lifestyle and appreciates the importance of maintaining good health and wellness. His dedication to family, fitness, and service reflects the same commitment to excellence that he brings to his patients.
Mark Ellis, MD
Board Certified Otolaryngologist– Head and Neck Surgery
Mark Ellis, MD grew up in Chattanooga, TN and received his undergraduate degree from the Honors College at the University of Georgia. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, where he was president of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Ellis completed his Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery training at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Ellis is a head & neck surgeon. He specializes in pediatric ENT, thyroid & parathyroid surgery, and head & neck cancer surgery.
Laura Hixon, PA-C
Laura Hixon is a Physician Assistant born and raised in the Chattanooga area. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She continued her education and received her masters degree in medical science from the Physician Assistant program at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.
Laura enjoys treating a wide variety of ENT related issues with a special interest in disorders of the ear. Her goal is to provide each patient with knowledgable and compassionate care that will improve their quality of life. She also enjoys educating patients to better understand their health concerns and work as a team to create an individualized treatment plan.
When she is away from work, Laura enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. She is involved in her children’s school and is an active member in her church. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her family.
Haven Howard, PA-C
Haven Howard is a board certified physician assistant (PA) and has practiced otolaryngology at Chattanooga Ear, Nose & Throat since 2014. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and then earned her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Arcadia University in Philadelphia, PA. She holds a national board certification through the American Academy of Physician Associates and is a member of the Society of Physician Assistants in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck.
Haven is a Chattanooga native and GPS alumna. It is the full array of patients and their various concerns that brought her to this specialty, but she especially enjoys caring for her pediatric patients and adult patients with ear-related and hearing concerns. She appreciates the connections and relationships that she has gained with patients and their families over the years. In time spent outside of the clinic, Haven enjoys reading/listening to audiobooks, gardening, time spent outdoors, and spending time with her friends, family, and her husband and two sons.
Melissa Jones, FNP-C
Melissa Jones is a board certified family nurse practitioner (FNP). Originally from West Tennessee, she has lived and worked in the Chattanooga area for the past 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University and her Master's of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University. Melissa enjoys caring for both adults and children with ENT conditions.
In her spare time Melissa can be found working on her hobby homestead with her husband and their three children. She enjoys cows, photography, sunshine, and growing flowers.
Carey Smith, AU.D. Audiologist
Carey Smith received her Doctor of Audiology in 2009 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Following graduation, she worked for a large ENT practice in Greenville, North Carolina. She returned to Tennessee in 2013 to join Chattanooga ENT Associates, P.C. She is passionate about hearing health and enjoys forming relationships with patients to help them re-connect with the hearing world around them. Dr. Smith has an extensive knowledge in fitting the latest digital hearing devices, both for hearing loss and for tinnitus.
Kristin Vrieswyk, Au.D. Audiologist
Dr. Vrieswyk has been working as an Audiologist in the Chattanooga area since 2004. Dr. Vrieswyk received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences (2000) and Master of Sciences degree in Audiology (2002) from the University of Southern Mississippi. In 2009, she obtained her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences. She is a licensed audiologist in both Georgia and Tennessee. She also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
When she is not at work, Dr. Vrieswyk enjoys spending time with her husband and her toy poodle, Penny. She also enjoys reading and writing, as well as editing and proofreading, and she is very active in her church.
