Chattanooga Ear, Nose and Throat

Chattanooga Ear, Nose and Throat was established in 1974 by Dr. Robert Bowers, marking the beginning of a practice dedicated to providing high-quality otolaryngological care to the Chattanooga community and beyond. In 2024, the practice proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, a testament to its enduring commitment to excellence and innovation. Since its founding, the practice has grown to include a team of skilled physicians offering a wide range of services, including allergy treatment, sinus and throat care, hearing loss management, and more.

In March 2025, Chattanooga ENT expanded its reach by opening a new office in East Brainerd at 7480 Ziegler Road. This location was established to provide more convenient access to high-quality ENT care for patients in the surrounding communities.

Chattanooga ENT is proud to offer balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive, in-office procedure used to treat chronic sinusitis. This innovative technique uses a small balloon catheter to gently open blocked sinus passages, allowing for improved drainage and long-term symptom relief with minimal discomfort and a faster recovery time compared to traditional sinus surgery.

The practice also provides advanced treatment options for sleep apnea, including the Inspire procedure—a cutting-edge, implantable device that works with a patient’s natural breathing patterns to stimulate key airway muscles during sleep. Inspire offers a proven alternative for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP therapy and is implanted through a same-day outpatient procedure.

In addition, the physicians at Chattanooga ENT are experienced in performing thyroidectomy, a surgical procedure to remove all or part of the thyroid gland. This procedure is often necessary in cases involving thyroid nodules, cancer, or hyperthyroidism, and the team is committed to ensuring expert care and optimal outcomes through personalized treatment planning and surgical precision.

The practice also provides compassionate and expert care for children, including tonsillectomies and ear tube placement to treat recurrent infections, sleep-disordered breathing, or chronic fluid buildup. Chattanooga ENT is committed to making each child’s experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both the patient and their family.

Former physicians of the practice include Dr. Morrow Chamberlain, who passed away in 2024, and Dr. Ted Brown, both of whom played significant roles in shaping the practice's reputation for excellence.

The current team of practicing physicians includes Dr. Jack Greer, Dr. David Armstrong, Dr. Peter Sabatini, and Dr. Mark Ellis. Each brings unique expertise, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse range of ENT needs. The practice's long history reflects its steadfast commitment to patient-centered care and innovation, with the continuous adoption of the latest medical advancements.
